This 2014 documentary follows the lives of Kodo’s apprentices and their practices in the lead-up to a local festival on Sado Island. Three of the apprentices featured are now full-fledged Kodo performers: Jun Jidai, Koki Miura, and Ryoma Tsurumi.
Directed by Christian Dumais-Lvowski and Don Kent, the film was created especially for international audiences. Narrated in French and German, with subtitles available in both languages as well as English, it features interviews with the apprentices and their everyday interactions.
